Abstract: Past measurements of small angle, proton-proton correlations
yielded results showing that the deduced lifetime was dependent on the
angle of detection. The observation that short deduced lifetimes are
mainly seen at forward angles lead us to believe that nucleon-nucleon scattering,
along wiht the normal statistical emission, occurs during heavy ion reaction.
At the University of Notre Dame, we measured proton-proton correlation
from the 16O + 27Al system at a beam energy of 72 MeV. Their light charged
particles were measured with sixteen CSI detectors at 20o and with
an opening angle of 3.27o. The correlation functions will
be shown and compared to other results.
