Dean Jones says:

"Good!  We have agreed on several terms, including the following:

**TWO guaranteed trips to a conference each year for two years

**$2,000 for software to analyze data

**$12,000 for hardware (i.e., special computer processor and other equipment)

**A nine-month salary at the 25th percentile

**Required to teach two summer sessions, none of which count toward your teaching load

**Three-day-a-week teaching schedule.

Welcome to our university!"

Critique:

This was not a very good deal for you, because you didn't even discuss a few topics like having a graduate assistant.  Nor did you discuss any limits or accommodations to your teaching schedule.  This is likely to interfere with your research productivity in the future.  Your salary is also quite low.  While your initial response was good in that it got Dean Jones to thinking about how you could be an asset to the college, you were too quick to agree with what he offered.  You may want to play again to see if you can get an even better deal.
