Dean Jones says:

"Good!  We have an agreement:

Here is the new contract package for your review:

**ONE graduate assistant for TWO years.

**Work with the SBDC on at least one project during the academic year.

**FOUR guaranteed trips to conferences each year for two years

**$2,000 for software to analyze data

**$12,111 for hardware (i.e., special computer processor and other equipment)

**A nine-month salary at the 55th percentile.

**Required to teach TWO summer sessions (each with high enrollment caps), neither of which count toward your teaching load

**Three-day a week teaching schedule."

Critique:

You got a pretty good deal in this negotiation.  Working with the SBDC might at first seem burdensome, but it might result in some collaborative data collection sites...depending on the project, this could facilitate your research program.

REFLECT:  What tactics did you use to get this agreement?

You may wish to try again to see if you can get a better deal.
