Dean Jones says:

"You make a good point.  However, the Fall Semester is already set...I suppose we could give you a three-day-a-week teaching schedule for Fall Semester and a two-day-a-week schedule for the following Spring Semester.  Also, I suppose I could lower it to three summer sessions.

Therefore, this is the revised contract package I'd like to offer you:

**ONE guaranteed trip to a conference each year for two years

**$1,000 for software to analyze data

**$10,000 for hardware (i.e., special computer processor and other equipment)

 **A nine-month salary at the 25th percentile

**Required to teach three summer sessions, none of which count toward your teaching load

**Three-days-a-week teaching schedule for Fall and two-days-a-week teaching schedule for the following Spring."

Your Response:

1.  That will go a long way toward helping my research get started.  If you will accept the other aspect of my proposal -- teaching only one Summer session -- then I will accept your offer.

2.  Make it two-days-a-week for both Spring Semester of my first year and for both semesters of the following year, that is, my second year,  and I'll accept your offer.  Then, I can really get started on my research program!

3.  Couldn't one of those Summer sessions -- you are asking me to teach four, and I'm asking for only one -- count toward my normal teaching load during the regular nine-month semester?

4.  You will really be getting a good instructor if you hire me!  My advisor said that I was one of the best graduate instructors he has ever seen!

5.  YYY
