Dean Jones says:

"Teaching in the summer only takes the morning.  After that, you've got the rest of the day and all evening to analyze data and to write...

(pause)

All right, because I want you to get started on your research program and not be distracted, I'm willing to reduce your summer teaching load to TWO summer sessions in the first year.  However, for each of those two summer sessions, class sizes must be 100% larger than if you were to teach four sessions."

Your response:

1.  I accept your kind and generous offer.

2.  What?!?  You are expecting me to teach the same number of students?!?  Nice try, but no dice!!!

3.  What makes you think that doubling the class sizes will be fair to either me or to the students?  Have you ever done that in the past?
