Students working in Cowley Greenhouse

Teaching

In my teaching, I seek to improve student understanding of biological concepts while also helping them develop the skills they need as biologists. For example, I include assignments and readings designed to increase student confidence in reading and interpreting scientific literature. I also work to engage students by illustrating the ways class content can be applied to other areas of their education and their lives.

I regularly teach the following classes:

General Biology (BIO 105)

Organismal Biology (BIO 203)

Ecology (BIO 307)

Quantitative Methods in Ecology (BIO 419/519)

Senior Capstone (BIO 491)

Please see the UW-L Course Catalog for descriptions and pre-requisites.
